It all started with a muffin….

The idea for opening this shared commercial kitchen here in the Bryan/College Station area, came to me because I needed one 5 years ago.  I wanted to create and sell savory breakfast muffins.  The ingredients I use in the muffins would not allow me to be covered under the cottage food laws here in Texas.  So… I went in search of a kitchen.

What I quickly discovered was that the closest shared kitchens were only to be found in larger cities like Houston, Austin, and Dallas.  After calculating travel times and costs I had to come to terms with the lack of feasibility of this venture.  So, I decided to table the idea for a while.  But… it left me with a big question….  If I am looking for something like this in this area, could there be others who are looking as well?   Hummm…..

Long story short…. It turns out that YES!  There ARE others!  After several conversations with the city, the local health department, and doing some pop-up marketing events, it turns out that there are others who also need access to an affordable cooking space to get their business going.  So, when the opportunity presented itself to purchase an existing bakery with loads of storage and space to grow, we jumped on it!

It has been a whirlwind journey, but we are proud of our accomplishment and we are excited to invite and share our space with the community.   Our goal is to be a great resource for food entrepreneurs to the Brazos Valley and beyond.
